Pleasant bar on-site, decent size and recently renovated room with daily towel change, real character and lovely bathroom. Magnificent location, around 4-6 minutes away by foot from The English Bridge. Great weekend in this very picturesque area.

Reception staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great location at the heart of Shrewsbury, very close to several pretty good restaurants and the architecture of the old town is beautiful, almost like York without so many tourists
Our room was a little too warm and not as well insulated from sound as we would have liked (room 104)

I did not want to leave there, so 100% recommend this hotel. the place was immaculately clean with brand-new and well-furnished rooms. - the staff were patient and top-class. - the location of the venue was absolutely perfect and incredible, not too far from the English Bridge.

Good location but quite hard to find your way through the maze of one way streets
Our room was small and a bit shabby-the hotel was virtually empty so why we were put so far from the main reception area I have no idea!

Shrewsbury is an interesting town to visit. The Hotel is situated in a quaint narrow street that is near restaurants, pubs and shops and is in the centre, so the town can be easily explored on foot. There are many places (Wroxeter, Ironbridge, Chirk Castle) worth visiting in the surrounding area. The hotel itself has very friendly, helpful staff and we liked our room (suite) with its old wooden beams and the little comfortable room off the bedroom in the old (I think 15th century) part of building.

We were 2 retired ladies enjoying 3 days in Shrewsbury. The hotel and service 1st class throughout. highly recommended. Shrewsbury very historical, excellent shopping, good bus services, even the sun shone.
Lack of shelving and hanging space in bathroom, just a minor complaint

We loved everything about the Prince Rupert, from the characterful bedroom, to the excellent breakfast. The position in Shrewsbury is second to none, and no passing traffic !! We plan to make this our pied a terre on our fairly frequent visits to this town.
